Regurgitator release new single
One of my fav bands, Regurgitator, are about to release a new single "Crush the Loosers", an unofficial theme to the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Apparently it still sounds very 80's and infact sounds like they've ripped off another song altogether. Good on 'em.
Adding to my excitement is the fact this single is rumoured to have covers of "Eye Of The Tiger" by Surviver and the Monkey Magic theme.
On searching for MM I found out Godiego, the geniuseseses behind the Monkey Magic theme and Gandhara, have recently reformed, rereleased their CDs and gone on tour.
A brief search of the net could find no reference to the new single but I've heard it comes out on the 15th of September.
RIAA are bastards
Those lovely people who control most of the music in America recently (last year) managed to get a copyright law changed so that they now OWN most of the music in America. Most contracts for artists are set up so that the recording company owns the music anyway, but they always had the right to claim it back after 35ish years as their own. Now they can't.
Thanks to Dave, who moved his site.
Weblogs
In case you hadn't noticed, this is a Weblog. You should get one.
Anthony J Hicks a bloke from Sydney, Australia and owner of Aussie Blogs also runs a Weblog. Read it.
Some people use weblogs to rant, some people use it as a kind of massive bookmark facility with comments, some people use it for a particular cause. Some people use it for everything.
San Francisco
I'm going to SF in less than a month. I'm going for a week. I plan to look at the bridge, that island jail thing and gawk at freaky up-and-down streets. I plan to sniff the air Mr Bungle grew up in. I'm going to drown myself in culture and a city full of real history.
And come home to Melbourne, pretty much the same without the fires, earthquakes and bridge. And I love it.
