Why?
Information doesn't want to be free
People want information to be free.
Yes, we do. I do anyway. He says "people who want information to be free should make some and make it free.". I have. Go download my Approximate songs or some Walken and tell all your friends. I want you to hear it! Please. Check out any of my webpages! Please!
Information used to be free, people who didn't tell you something were selvish. Being stupid. Why not tell you? Because they have something to gain not telling you. This is always seen as a bad thing isn't it? Maybe you have something to loose from that info. Well, that's your own fault. More incentive to not do anything stupid.
I'm in a free information society mood at the moment. Actually, I'm in a generally bad mood about everything at the moment. I guess it's to do with the fact I'm so happy with everything at the moment I'm looking outwards for problems. I'm like that. I need something to bitch about.
The article author's arguement about nobody saying people should share Windows 2000 annoys me. He also says at one point something like "well stiff, that's the way it is". Well maybe 'the way it is' should be changed? We managed to get a completely usable operating system in Linux for free.
I've lost my point. I'm in a spin. I know a lot of this (Win2k, music, art) wouldn't happen without the incentive for cash, market share, being number 1. Maybe that is the problem? This issue has been going on forever hasn't it?
