The Big Day Out 2001
Limp Bizkit have been confirmed as headlining Australia's biggest festival The Big Day Out... hmmm. Aussie bands on the set include Powderfinger, 28 Days, Killing Heidi, Nitocris, Frenzal Rhomb, sonicanimation and Friendly.

The fantastic Japanese legends 'ZooBombs', Rammstein (who were meant to be on the set this year but cancelled at the last minute), PJ Harvey, DJ Carl Cox, Happy Mondays, Roni Size, Placebo...

Jukeboxes open my eyes
I went out drinking last night. I watched (and was involved in) people putting money into a jukebox. What did you get for your cash?

$1 - One song, one play.
$2 - Three songs, one play each.

My eyes were torn open. Here I am saying that people would be nuts to pay $5 to own a digital copy of a song, to own, keep and play as many times as you want... when I just witnessed many people happy to pay $2 to hear 3 songs once and that's it.

Sure they got to see a video too. Sure they were all pissed, but that's not the point is it?

Someone at work explained it as a sense of value. In a pub you get more for your dollar. You get fifteen friends singing a track, you get the discussion afterwards, you get a bit of entertainment. People are happy to pay for entertainment. In fact he said you get about the same value purchasing a song as you do 'renting' it as you do with a jukebox, and so three songs for $2 off the net would be his perfect price.

Interesting.
