Poor Kids Without Cable
Poor Kids Without Cable most definitely get most of their hits because of their cool name. They play pretty nicely produced guitar pop/rock. They've made $4,500 at MP3.com. Lucky bastards.

I went to the Greyhound in St. Kilda on Wedneday to check out where Walken may be getting a gig soon. It's one of their band nights where they put new bands on stage for all to see. The first band was 'Mav'. Mav was a singer/guitarist/songwriter with a bored looking backing band. Appart for the last song and a pretty good cover of 'Come Together' I wasn't very impressed.

The next band was 'Clone8'. Four young guys from Geelong on their first ever Melbourne gig and they rocked. Above average hard rock with some excellent random tempo changes that grabbed my attention constantly throughout the set. Excellent guitar playing throughout and although they weren't as tight as the previous band they definitely had better songs. They have a webpage but I would avoid the sample, it's pretty bad. Unfortunately they didn't have a CD for sale but they should have a demo ready by Feb. More info on this band later.

Check out Melbourne through citysearches many webcams.

More dotcom downers, Emusic cuts staff by 36%. If you want to buy your 'good crop of crap' MP3, go now before it's too late.

I noticed Jonahs Attic on MP3.com.au a couple of days ago. I particularly liked A Nothing Song. They reminded me of very early +Live+ recordings (before Throwing Copper) and I think they're worth a listen for fans of Triple M rock.
