Phrasing
Question 1 : Would you pay $1.50 to get home 10 minutes earlier with much less frustration?

Question 2 : Would you like an extra $30 bill every month?

I prefer to look at my eTag (auto road tollway) bill the first way. It's easier that way. The true 'worth' of services reveals itself at the moment. Monthly bills, monthly lifestyles, ruin the feeling of 'worth'. Try it on trains, taxis, and with net services. Think about it. I ONLY pay $5.95 for 3 DVDs to be shipping halfway around the world right to my door. BARGIN!

I might add, my eTag bill was more like $80 this month. Major ouch. The method above does end up costing you money.

Bigger, Stronger, Ignoringer
Quote of the day, "And oddly enough, one flick of the scroll wheel is exactly the height of a banner add." - 'quarter' from slashdot.

Is 3 billion enough?
Could the recording industry ignore 3 billion dollars of revenue created out of nothing? What about 10 billion? J River, makers of Media Jukebox tripled Napster's 1 billion dollar offer today.

Death
About 50 people died yesterday in Australia (source, my dodgy calculations based on info from InfoPlease.com). One of those people was Sir Don, Australia's favourite cricket player. I was hoping he'd make the century, but he made a respectable 92.

Death 2
There were actually 350 deaths in Australia yesterday (and the day before and...) as sourced from The Australian Bureau of Statistics (thanks Dave). However, my info wasn't wrong (about 130,000 deaths a year) my rushed MSCalc calculations were. So sue me, I'm a programmer.

'I agree!'
I agree with The Null Device. Give everyone a blog and fill the web with an unmaintained mess.

But I don't agree quite with his reasoning. True, a lot of people can't be bothered but not necessaryly because they're part of the thriving mindless masses. It takes a special type to want to blog. Some people just don't like it, even geeks.
