I've been sniffing around the idea of buying a house/flat/appartment/dwelling over the last few months and have generally voted against it because of the debt-for-many-years factor. When the GST came in, our government implemented a $7,000 first home buyers grant to cover the extra cost of a home. Now that has been doubled for anyone buying a newly built home in an attempt to 'rebuild' the slowing building industry. The word of the day is hmmmm....
