Napster blocks 50% of shared files  #

Subject URL: Napster blocks 50% of shared files

The new Q+A linked above explains what Napster is doing to block shared files (list from record companies, Gracenote, misspellings, Pig Latin) and provides some interesting stats, including the fact that before filtering began the average user was sharing 220 files, where now the average is 110.

I see they don't mention the fact that usage of the services had dropped by 60% on the 15th March.

And I really wonder what those 110 are? Munged file names? Live tracks? Tracks OK'd by the artists and not on the initial filter list? I might jump on Napster and see what I can still get.

And if I can get it with a logical search (eg. Artist=Metallica, Title=One) does that mean it's OK?
