Anyone interested in copyright and globalisation should read this article. Not only does it carefully explain the history of copyright and give the speakers (it's a transcript) opinion of where it should go and how copyright is now being abused by publishers, but it's the first article to explain to me in one paragraph why globalisation is a bad thing. Very good discussion of why we ended up with DVD Regioning and encryption, why the publishers would love you to buy your books/music online and how they're all extreamly pissed about libraries. Publishers know damn well they're completely unnecessary now and they're scared. (via Null Device)
