Slashdot informs me that the BBC informed them that the EU is following the ACCC's lead by asking a few leading questions about DVD regioning and the price of DVDs compared to their US versions.

The average UK DVD new release is 17-20 UK pounds (about $55 Australian), compared to $30-$40 Australian, compared to around $20-$25US (about $40-$50 Australian).
