I want my guitar back. I want my photos back. I want to remove some clutter...
The stuff we learn. New SOAD album soon. A new Tori Amos tribute album is out, have to try to find that to listen to. New Ben Folds album (as a solo artist). New Chemical Bros. That with the new Bjork and new Tori album. Joy!
And don't forget, Regurgitator Live At The Wireless tonite at 9pm. It's live live from a venue in Sydney! Time to set up the minidisc again.
Saturday consisted of driving Katie to work, driving to St. Kilda only to get lost in the rabbit warren of one-way and dead-end streets for forty minutes trying to find HotHouse studios which ended up being easy to find, if I'd only turned left instead of right. For a brief moment I hated St. Kilda with a passion, but now I blame my over reliance on cars instead of getting off my arse to walk. Heath and I had lunch in a burger place on Akland street. Good Mexican burgers. Mess central.
Of note, Walken has decided on Hothouse for thier first CD (Glory/Lucy). Very friendly, very laid back, good equipment, good experience. All good! Two days in October are pencilled in. Meanwhile we'll be demoing what other songs we have in a simple form to get everything down on tape. Enthused again.
Saturday arvo was spent picking up my Tool "Salival" DVD boxset at JB, then wanding off to Dave's place for a stroll around Brunswick pubs and eateries. The Napier is great, if a little cramped, Coopers on tap, wood interier, dodgy old pool table and footy crap everywhere. The "Labour In Vain" on Brunswick street is worth a look if only for the house dark ale and oldschool Mario Bros machine in the back corner.
And while I'm at it, I recommend chocolate-chilli icecream should you ever get the chance, even in the freezing cold.
We end the night crashed out on Dave's floor having drunk Gin and Tonics while watching 80's Madonna wale.
Waking up earlyish to wander off to the city for breakfast in "Fast Eddies" (fast my arse), making it just in time to see "Pokemon 3 - The Movie" at Village on Burke Street. Why is it kids movies are looking so much better than "adult" movies these days. Maybe it's that they feel less of a need to insert swearing, sex and violence at random spots throughout to keep your interest. They just stick with "violence without blood". Cats And Dogs looks good as does the Harry Potter movie.
Walked off through parks and backstreets in South Melbourne in the afternoon, ending up back at Dave's around 3, heading on back to Katie's around five, only to be instantly invited to dinner at Katie's parents.
One of the fullest and most relaxing weekends I've had for a while.
I took a few photos using my dodgy snail-cam and now have to wait for photos to be developed. Lame. I want a digital camera and all the instantaniousness that such technology involves.
