The Truth, CBD, Tina Arena, Kulcha, The Sharp, Chocolate Starfish. Festival Hall, Melbourne. Miklos and I went along to this gig souly for The Sharp and The Truth. The Truth played fairly weakly from what I remember and most of the croud hated it. CBD were boyband central but at one point their excellent bass player was given a solo and he impressed everyone there. And they some damn nice booty dancers too. Tina Arena wasn't impressing the guy in front of us much screaming about Mickey Mouse or something or other. Anyway, Mik threw a bottle at Tina, as you do, and we were ejected from the venue. We wandered up the a nearby servo and bought some drinks and settled down by Festival Hall's door to wait for The Sharp. When they came on we sang and listened and enjoyed, so much so that the security guard let us back in with a slap on the wrist. The crowd was jumping and The Sharp were in fine form. It's the first and second last time I ever saw the band. Chocolate Starfish sucked almost as much as the album of the same name. Get your damn microphone out of your pants you tool.

The Truth, Caligula, Baby Animals and Hunters and Collectors. The first gig I remember ever attending. 'Twas a Saturday night @ Festival Hall Melbourne and I was with a couple of friends, only attending the gig for Hunters and Collectors and Caligula. We'd never heard of The Truth nor had we heard much of Baby Animals. The Truth were absolutely fantastic that night ripping out their hits "My Heavy Friend", "Secrets", "Can't Help It" but it was "Peak It" that one me and most of the croud over full of fantastic beats and an excellent drum solo.

Most people didn't like Caligula but I loved it. Its a huge pity this band broke up, they were a great live band, but Primary is an OK replacement I suppose.

I never went out and bought a Baby Animals CD after this gig but I really should have as it was one of the best rock shows I've ever seen. An hour and a half of pure rock covered in metal solos, fantatsic singing and crowd participation. I don't remember a single song, but I can still picture the lead singer up their with her guitar smashing out some monster metal riff and the whole crowd thinking they'd come to the wrong gig. Excellent!

Hunters and Collectors were fantastic but it was that night I discovered I actually bugger all of their songs and they actually had a much bigger catalog than just "Cut" so I felt a bit lost in the sea of fans who knew every word.

It's from this gig that I blame a lot of my tinitus on. My ears rang for days after this four hours onslaught of music.
