( "Nothing" of course means "nothing extra". Many companies claim off-the-record that higher salaries of managers cover their "expected overtime". But shouldn't they be reducing the pay of managers and hiring more? It'll never happen though as who makes these decisions? Just like reducing benefits for sitting members of government would never happen... And hell, we sure don't want more managers do we? Do we? )
Katie informed me of a survey she heard recently that said many casual workers worked overtime for no extra pay and nearly all had worked while sick (enough to have a doctors certificate).
It's all so wrong. But isn't it all simply that no-body seems to complain about it?
My theory of my love of blogs is my desire for conversation being stifled by being stuck at work. Blogs are my conversation replacement during work hours.
What's funny is that I think I suck at conversation. I can never say what I want when I want. Just like everyone else.
I'm in one of those I Have No Work And Everyone Who Can Give Me Work Is In A Meeting Or Away Sick moments. Hence, I am bored. At moments like these I'd pick up the guitar. Or download some R.E.M. MP3s that I'll probably never get around listening to.
At work I scream.
