Less than a week after it acquired MP3.com, new owners Vivendi Universal have kicked out the outspoken CEO Michael Robertson and replaced him with the far more corporate-friendly Robin Richards, who was previously president.
Robertson has issues with the subscription model being sold by the major labels, and had problems with working with a "large company". (via Null)
But no.... next purchase is a new camera. Problem is do I go digital (and hence, 3 to 4 times more expensive) or do I go a film based camera (hence lots more features for the same price) or heck, even a video cam. I was tempted by a Canon I saw for $800, but for that price I could get a killer film camera. And I know if I wait a year I could get the same digital camera for about $5 at the market. Which begs the question of all tightwads, how often will I use it? Difficult question because it's impossible to know until you have it. It's hard to know how much you'd use a digital until you've experience their ease. Maybe I should find someone who has one and borrow it. To get over the pointless desire to consume.
Anyway, I've pretty much decided to just get a film camera and wait out the "digital revolution" and get something really goovey in a years time.
