It begins tomorrow  #

Toni Blair is set to announce strikes against Afghanistan targets tomorrow. The US has sent out it's evidence against the Binster to it's Alies and indicated it could strike at any time. And on top of this I heard on the radio today that the US is being told to prepare for chemical or biological warfair and that Binybob could have nuclear capability.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I don't want war and I want no part in a war. But I don't make the choises. Johnny does and our voice of Australia Mr Downer has indicated that Australians may die fighting in the near future but anyone who is right would see that it is necessary. Nasty world we live in isn't it? Not that I would have anyway but I'm not voting anywhere near Liberal on November 10th or whenever they decide we're voting. I think I'll vote for a carrot or some other inaminate object.

Heard the new sonicanimation single on the radio yesterday. I thought it was Prodigy or something. Didn't really like it. Still, it means that a new sonic album is out soon with the single "E-Ville" in store 22nd October. And most importantly they'll be doing shows including Friday 2nd November Prince Of Wales - VIC w/ Pound System & Local DJ's.

Also heard the new Tea Party single 'Lullaby'. Also thought it wasn't that great but again it means a new album which is released in Australia October 29th.

It's such a pity to see bands I love writing music I don't like.

Dug up some old CDs during my break. Had a listen to the Deftones in the car this morning. Av-er-age. They're one of those bands I think I'd like if they had a better vocalist. Its not that he can't sing it's that he can't make up good melody or flow. At least I don't like it. The Pi soundtrack rules as much as I remember though.

WMA as standard?  #

Slashdot informs that Cnet informs that "the music industry" is thinking of formating CDs so that not only are they unrippable but they contain the tracks in WMA format as well, with limited uses. The horror...

Mail  #

I remember an episode of Webster or Family Ties or some crap 80's rich family's kids sitcom where the boy of the house is to go to a Male School but he confuses it with a Mail School (ie. a school built in an old mail building) and doesn't click that it was an "all boys" school and there would be no women for his mooching. It was shit.

The reason I say all this is because my brain threw this memory into my head when I got home last night to see some nice person had gone through my mail, possibly stealing stuff but who can tell. They certainly opened some of it.

So much of our world is based on trust. My mail just sits there in the open until I collect it. I leave my car in the street trusting that no-one will damage it. I lock it because I don't trust that people won't try to steal something in it, or the car itself. But I still trust that they won't just randomly damage it. I trust that could travel on the train at night and not get beaten up but the possibility is there. It's a pretty stupid trust really. It sounds sensible to me but I'm obviously not the norm.

Yesterday someone emailed a group of friends and asked if we thought the world was mostly good with some evil, or mostly evil with some good. I went for mostly good with some evil. I figure most people are good, it's just that evil is far more visible. But I've changed my mind a bit. I reckon most people are good and evil, it's just most recognise when they're evil and hide it. Others don't see the evil for what it is and let it free.

And of course there is the whole subjective "what is evil anyway"? Some people think eating meat is evil. When I think about it it is pretty darn harsh....
