Dave passed on the link above. I'd be interested to see the sort of "deal" they come up with. But I'd like to see laws ensuring workers have secure leave entitlements, compensated overtime and negotiable hours. A union can only do so much.

Apocalyptica (four cellos reformed Metallica cover band) released a DVD in July 30th containing a full live gig, all of their videos and a special video of "Little Drummer Boy". Why wasn't I told? Argh! *excited squeal*....

...um... I just had a look at the video section of the Apocalyptica site to check out "Hope Vol II" and "Path Vol II" and they have vocals. Vocals? I'm shattered.

Why is everything I want difficult to get? I just sent off an order for Vince Dicola's new CDs from Botcon. Snail mail credit card order. Ick, I feel dirty.

Meanwhile Secret Chiefs 3 new CD "Book M" is out and apart from ordering it from Amazon or ABSound etc, it looks like the cheapest way to get it is through HMV.com.au. Although I notice from that site that it's out on STOMP, an Australia based importer, so that in theory should mean that I should be able to order it easily at Sanity, or JB HiFi etc. except JB HiFi has no idea who Secret Chiefs 3 are, despite them ordering in the last SC3 Live CD, "Eyes Of Flame" which could at the time only be order through Web Of Mimicry. Someone there must have a clue, but they wern't working today.

Smashing Pumpkins are releasing a best of along with a DVD of all their videos. The best of will be released for a limited time with 2 CDs, the second CD being a b-sides and rarities collection. My interest in SP has gone down the drain thanks to two crap albums but the DVD collection sounds promising. All the b-sides seems to be Adore+ era stuff so I'm not sure I'm interested.

Sonic Animation (*cough*sonicanimation*cough*) have split from their previous record label Global Recordings for reasons unknown (I bet it includes the words "royalties", "screwed" and "out of") and in the tradition of such splits (see silverchair split with Sony) the record label is releasing every piece of sonic material they own. The global site mentions a b-sides/live/rare collection, but interestingly a search in HMV.com.au comes up with "Live 2CD". I wonder what this could be? Sonic live are really quite cool so I'm hoping it is what it says and not just a typo, but given the release date (22nd Oct) is the same as the b-sides collection I suspect HMV stuffed up. Sonic Animation's new album is also set to be released the end of October. You can see why sonic are pissed about the compilation....

So I leave you with Bert, cropping up in the best of places. It must be real, Fox told me so.
