The recent Oils tribute album got me thinking about a Faith No More tribute album I heard about a while back (March '01). Some Googling informed me of the official and unoffical tribute albums. The unoffical CD is being mastered early next year, while the offical CD seems to have died. That's probably a good thing...

NME on the Beastie Boys anti-violence gig in New York on the 29th. Michael Stipe and Moby (and later Bono) turned up unannounced for a surprise couple of acoustic covers. (via Heath)
