Hole  #

I've crawled into a bit of a hole technology wise. I'm worried about the possibilities of companies such as the RIAA and MPAA controlling the IT industry in such a way as to reduce computers from the fantastic do anything machines they are now to "fantastic do what we let you" machines. But I've given up thinking about it. Every article on the subject makes the future look so boring. You can see it happening with Windows XP, DRM masterpiece that it seems.

But what are you gonna do? I use my computer for the net, music and writing and nothing else. "Music" tends to involve finding music, buying music, recording old tapes to CD and of course making music....

Someone asked me yesterday what sort of computer they should get. Three years ago I'd have talked for hours. Now I have no idea and I don't care.

My interests are elsewhere.

Why can't I buy Invader Zim on DVD?
