LA Times article on the effect DVD has had on the movie making process.

Bah! I just want the movie in a format that won't die on me in ten years time. Good quality. Quit it with all the extra shit. Although I did like the extra 20 minutes of actual content that was cut out of Nurse Betty... and all those cool soapy scenes in full!

Very cool movie.

Celine Dion's latest CD "will not play on a PC or Mac".

"The CD will probably cause a system to crash, but it will not alter anything," the spokeswoman said. "And it won't eject properly, but that's just because the computer has crashed."

Easy stands to take number 2310 : Well screw you Sony, I'm not going to buy Celine Dion's latest CD. You can stick if up your bum.

Drive 2  #

mmm facts getting in the way of hotheadedness.

A friend threw a few of them into the driving debate. Modern cars' speedos are often deliberately set to show speeds too fast to compensate for the various things that can make a speedo inaccurate. Better to show too fast than too slow.

And to clarify the article I read about most cars' speedos today being within 3km... it actually said rarely more than 3km an hour over. Which is a little different.

AND (yes, and) if you factor in the fact there are more and more cars on the road each year and yet the road toll continues to stay around the same you could say that the road toll is dropping (statistically).

But to that I add that cars are getting safer and safer, ABS breaks, airbags and all that. I'd be interested to see if the number accidents (both fatal and non-fatal) has gone up to match the number of cars on the road.

If every car on the road was a bumper car everyone would be sweet.

Stupid analogy carefully crafted for maximum annoyance : If there were a bunch of idiots running around shooting people should we get the killers off the streets or all walk around cloaked in kevlar so that if we do get shot we're more likely live?

I'm probably not the best person for this arguement anyway. I hate driving. It scares the crap out of me most of the time. So anything anyone does on the road that seems stupid to me is probably fine to everyone else.
