This time last year (2001) :

Listening/Watching my tape of 'Gurge on Channel V and I've been trying to figure out the pops I keep hearing every now and then. I was a little worried it was my soundcard playing up again, but was fairly sure it was just Foxtel being weird. I finally figured it out... It's the DJ's vinyl popping. How lame do I feel?

I remember hearing a story about lots of people taking Portishead's "Dummy" back to WalMart because of "damage". They were referring to all the pops from the vinyl mixing. And I've read about three posts in alt.music.mr-bungle asking if their CD is damaged thanks to the "crackling" at the end of "Bionic Vapour Boy". It's fake vinyl noise dude. "Vinyl?" they say...

This time two years ago (2000) :

My new job rules [at MP3.com.au]. I love it. I've ranted about it before. But I'm still tired. I don't get enough sleep. People don't get enough sleep. We should listen to our bodies. I'm tired, therefore, I sleep, unless a sabre toothed tiger is chasing me. But society is stuck in 9-5. I wonder if people join bands so they can work at night and sleep in. But then some keep day jobs too. How do they do it?

I get even less sleep now...

Walken my band has more gigs coming up in August. Almost one a week. Week nights. Less sleep.
