I'm surprised it's coming this quickly, but in a years time no-one will care about music trading. It'll all be TV trading. It's the opportunity lost again. I'm telling you now, set up a subscription service for TV shows on the net and you'll be a millionaire. Forget subscription music. Forget movies. No-one cares. TV. TV. TV. TV. TV.

The article about is mostly about Microsoft's new version of XP for the Media Centre PC. It's basically a Tivo except it's a PC, with everything that goes along with that (broadband, techsavy users, Kaaza).

The decision by Microsoft to go with what users want (no restrictions on TV content DVD burning / watching etc.) vs. what the TV channels want (full restriction, no ad-skipping etc.) is exactly what was needed.

Expect a year of "tv companies are stupid" comentary based around how dumb they were for basing their whole economic model around free TV and advertising so easily skipped.
