Woke to see the city covered in an orange haze. Couldn't see the city on the train on the last approach to Richmond station. Horrible smokey smell everywhere. I believe Melbourne is hundreds of miles from the nearest fire. Everyone on the train was just staring out the window, mouths open.

Been working on music ideas for the last few hours. Couple of new songs partly jammed out by the band, Nice Saturday and Weezer. Only working titles... Both pilage ideas from an old song of mine "Sunny Saturday" which never really went anywhere... it's hard killing old songs. Like cutting off the leg of an old friend to make a new friend less lame...

First day back at work today. Back to the HTML cutting grind.
