Just watched the new Metallica video St. Anger. I would never have thought in a million years they could write a song this bad but they have. Some of the music is OK but it's like metal produced by a rock band, everything's in the wrong place... and the singing... ergh James... and the tryhard production tricks like the weird little white-noises before the chorus... I'm speachless.

So close Metallica...  #

Was thinking about buying the new Metallica album. I don't know why but it's just a little temping isn't it? OK, maybe not. But tried a bit of try before you buy today. Looks like smart-arses, be they Metallica or someone else, has stuck a bunch of tracks up on the P2Ps under names from the new album, but they're songs from other bands.

Turns out I like some of these tracks though. Meshuggah's Gods of Rapture is pretty good in a Dream Theater prog-rock / metal kinda way. I'm pretty sure whatever this song under "Metallica's Frantic" is actually the Blue Man Group or something else. All very amusing. Maybe I'll go buy Meshuggah's album instead.

Been listening to old Metallica albums lately. Still like Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets more than ...And Justice for All. I still don't have Kill 'Em All. One day I'll see it for the $10 it's worth.

Heard a new Powerfinger song today too, On My Mind. It's alright. Rocking out... sort of. Sounds very 70's rock. Didn't grab me as much of a single.
