Spent most of Saturday lying in bed dying, feeling pretty run-down after my last cold. Am in the getting-better-stage but am exhausted. Seem to have pulled that muscle in my back again too but have struggled on, managing to jam yesterday. The band is attempting to record some "live" demos to rush the demo process through, but it's hard without a PA and a million microphones.

The Roswell episode of Futurama (Roswell that Ends Well) is pure gold...

The gig supporting Qwasi on Friday was moved to Thursday... which we can't do so no WALKEN at the Dan O'Connell this week. Sorry all. Hopefully a demo online soon, either via Triple J Unearthed or on our website. Will keep ya'll posted.

Initial plans for the band seem to be finish these 6 demos off by end of June / mid-July, then do a month long "tour", then do the rest of the demos (about 8 - 10), then hit the studio around Novemeber, although we may rush that to October as we have an offer to do a video but it must be done before November. Maybe.

Breakdown of where the money from iTunes sales go (Apple takes 40c, label takes 30c, artist gets 12c). Meanwhile artists complain that allowing the sale of single tracks from albums detroys their little piece of art. I say allow people to buy music the way they want to buy music or get pirated. That's your choice. (both via Slashdot)

Nothing pisses me off more than when fans of something put all the effort and work to archive and make available the history of something and then get told to take it down by the company that couldn't be bothered doing it themselves. Old arcade machine manuals removed from web thanks to IDSA and DMCA. [Slashdot.org]

Meanwhile I've been eyeing off the SL-SX418 portable MP3 CD player from Panasonic. Anyone know if it's any good? I've seen a few much better ones with upgradable ROMs (therefore the likelyhood of future playability of WAV, OGG, SHN etc). but they're $350+, this Panasonic one is <$200, my magical consumer item price.
