Three years ago today I wonder if getting a "band" (at the time it meant getting a drummer and a bass player) was really what I wanted.

Two years ago today I calmly mention the update of www.walkentheband.com to a dynamic site. At the time we had Daniel and Bruce on drums.

One year ago today plus three days the band was a week away from their first gig with Leigh.

The gig on Wednesday will be the band's 1st anniversary gig + 2 days playing gigs with Leigh on drums.

It doesn't seem that long.

Seven years ago I started Uni.

Fantastic interview with Trey Spruance, guitarist of Mr Bungle, one-time-guitarist of my favourite Faith No More album King For A Day and king-pin of Secret Chiefs 3.

This lifted me up a lot:

I recorded that whole record [King For A Day] with my roommate's $100 Les Paul imitation because I didn't have a fucking guitar that would work.

My god... I guess it's all in the mixing... and the $10,000 amp.

Things that bug me... inflation... and the fact a company can make a solid profit for 20 years, then one year they only break even so they lay off half their work-force. Growth.

Monkey.

Thanks Dave. No really, thanks.

Gig next Wednesday @ The Pony. Gig the Thursday after that @ The Cornish Arms. We're starting to shop around to actually try and get gigs... first time in over six months. All our gigs since December last year have been invites.

I figure if we'd won Triple J's Unearthed we'd have been contacted by now. There is still MusicOz. The MusicOz prize is better anyway.

Weirdness of the day: They're selling pieces of Alcatraz to fund it's rebuilding. I want to go back to San Francisco and just hang out in bars for months.

Letters from my parents on a giant UK holiday:

Then into Belfast. A tour of the town including Falls Road and Shankhill areas. The pavements are painted red, white and blue or orange, green and white depending on whether they are protestant or catholic.

More of the kind of thing I love. History on the net. And it's official Ausway too. The first Melways (Melbourne street map) online (via acb). The street I used to live in isn't even there. Australian Gub Club? Toorak drive-in cinema! mwhahaha...
