Music with your hands  #

The biggest problem with digital instruments / digital music is that ultimately humans produce music with their hands (or voice... shut up). The whole DJ mixing thing is the ultimate in analog mixing. Move the record with your hand, scratch, beat match. A lot of DJs use a drum machine and digital tech to help make their loops easier but they're still digging through record boxes in the background.

Being a DJ of this sort is almost impossible with a CD. You just can't beat match the same way with a CD. It's all in the wrist.

Until now. [Via BoingBoing] this set of decks looks like it mimicks a record player. The metal disc is the record, and it spins like a record, and if you move it, the music moves like a record. Who would have thought it would take so long to mimick such a simple analog interface to digital music?

ZOO!

ARGH! It's MOVING!
