Finished Jeff Noon's Pixel Juice today and I quite enjoyed it. It's a collection of short stories set in his crazy universe of future Manchester. They're all connected in some way (mainly the setting, but they refer to each other at times too).

This was the first Jeff Noon a friend read and it must have been a mindfunk. This was the last of his for me to read. It covers almost everything covered in his other books (vurt feathers, dreaming, blurb flies, robos and all other mutations) and to come across all those ideas in one go... Even without the pleasent shock of idea overload it was very good. It does fill in a lot of gaps you probably don't want filled in though before reading the other books.

It's up there with Vurt, his best book.

Walken gig was good. The Cue on Brunswick is a fairly big venue but it's mostly taken up with pool rooms. The band room was in the corner and quite small with a very small stage. Difficult ro fit five people up there, when Evan came on for 2nd guitars Daniel was offstage. All of ex-Photos Of Being was there to see Evan and most of Look Who's Toxic which was nice. We played a bit of Kiara for the Toxic, we really should learn the whole song because it's fun.

I wondered if the Australian release of Futurama boxset Season 3 would have the crappy audio issues in the Region 2 version. Seems like it will.

The Region 2 version of season 3 is absolutely identical to Region 4, and I even noted that each corresponding disc from the two Regions has the same number of bytes used up. This, plus the fact that the sets are dual encoded Region 2 and 4, would lead me to the obvious conclusion that these are the same in every way (same master).

From MichaelDVD review of the Aus region 4 Futurama Seasion 3 set.
