New Years 2  #

I don't know what is stupider, that our public transport system is too crap to handle New Years or that all of those people expected it to be.

I spent NYE with a large number of friends and random friends of friends at a house in Clayton. Fairly sure we heard the 9:30ish fireworks in the city from Hughesdale while picking up friends. Nice party, more talking than music. Got to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen in ages. Nothing over the top... unfortunately. I'm sure the drunk people had more fun. Lamely went home around 2am. Lots of people were even lamer and left only minutes before midnight.

I drank two and a half Coopers Pale Ale. I choose it because it had less alcamahol. I'd have rather drunk one Coopers Stout.

Was pretty sure I killed my cd-writer yesterday, burning 30 or so CDs in a row (the yearly backup of the not so important stuff) but it seems to be OK now although a little noiser than usual. Maybe it just overheated? Was thinking I'd been forced into buying a DVD writer. Damn.

I can't believe after all these years that the "multitasking magic" of Windows OSs still hangs when something stops working, say the network, or your CD writer. The whole bloody computer dies just because it can't read the CD. That can't be right.

I still haven't see that LOTR thingy but I've heard a lot about it. I suppose I might see it today.

It's Nemo, except he's French. You can tell because of the way his lips are shaped. I have to say though... if you were going to make a CGI clownfish, that is how it would look...
