EP Recording: Weekend 2  #
Tuesday, 17 Feb 2004 02:49PM
Update: Photos from the day, big thanks to Kenn. Sorry about the no-thumbnails and bad formating. That's entirely Heath's fault. We've got a photos on the site section for a reason... but anyway ;p

The first two hours of the day were spent applying compressors to the snare drums. Following that Heath recorded vocals for a song. I then re-did the guitars for Blue Sky. A guest guitarist spent the next couple of hours laying down his part, followed by Heath redoing vocals. Our guest vocalist turned up and we recorded her parts on one track. Then Heath recorded vocals for two more tracks. Finished up around 12:30am.

Was a pretty easy day for me. Only played the Blue Sky guitar part and listened in on the guest guitar part and vocal takes. Spent a lot of time chilling on the balcony in the fantastic weather getting sun burnt. We had a barbeque for dinner. Nice to see the dog back in the studio.

Vocals still required for two and a half tracks. Backing vocals required for five songs. Doubling of guitars may or may not happen during mixing. We're a little behind but we'll be ok... still on track for all songs being on the EP, but we'll obviously be spending more time on some than others.

For the fans, the tracks are (in no particular order): Blue Sky, Hitman, One Of These Days, Lego Woman, Fish Out Of Water, Away, I Like It. Blue Sky is definitely on the EP. Two of the others may or may not make it. I'm gunning for all seven making it, even if it means another day mixing / recording.

Update: I seem to have forgotten to update the registration my realkosh domain which could mean my email will be broken for a day or so, not to mention various websites. Sorry bout that. I guess the email was eaten by my spam filter.
