gMail  #

I received a gMail account in early June.

I urge you to ignore all the insane and stupid ranting about privacy (I mean, they have bloody hyphens in their URL, what can they possibly tell me about anything?)

Having used gMail for 3 weeks+ I can't stand to use my old client , and I really like Thunderbird. But it's just a pile of smelly crap compared to gMail.

I look at my single line in gMail that looks something and nothing like:

Heath, Daniel, me (26)   T-Shirt ideas?  10:30pm

... and compare it to the downloaded version in Thunderbird with 26 different emails scattered about the other 30 emails I got in the past two days and wonder what the hell I was doing before.

And I type an email in and two letters in I have a list of emails and with a flip of the middle finger I have the address. None of this "address book, find, where is it?, ah, click" crap.

And labels. They're just like folders except you can have multiple labels per email.

And the spam filtering is brilliant if sometimes wrong. But that's what the "Not Spam" button is for.

BUTTONS! "Not Spam", "Report Spam", "Remove Label", "Archive".

"Archive", your new best friend.

And searching emails with the speed of Google.

The whole bloody thing is so fast. And no ads. Ok... so there are ads, but they're invisible and ignorable. Like the ad for Operamail while reading the gMail intro email. HAHAHA. Like I'd use anything else again ever.

Oh yeah, and you get 1 Gig space. The one gig space is a gimmick to suck you in, because it's irrelvant.

I'd use gMail if they only gave me 30 Meg.

Anyone who says gMail is crap hasn't used it.

Fans of Pre_Shrunk should probably pop along to Revolver this Friday night to see them, it might be your last chance:

Hey 'Pimps, last chance to see Shrunk for a while, Davarj is going on a very long overseas holiday an we don't know when/if he is coming back. So get your asses down to the Espy this Saturday, and in the next week the Pelican Bar on Thursday, Revolver on Friday and Rubys next Saturday. Get your party gear on...
