Equipment carnage  #

Well... the gig at the Espy was a disaster. Not a disaster like our other disasterous gigs where maybe I broke a string or the foldback wasn't working. A proper disaster.

Update: I just found out that one song in [name and description not included to protect our chances at getting another gig at the Espy] of the Espy punched our mixer in the stomach after the second song. We're told he wandered up very drunk and started adjusting levels without asking. Our mixer politely asks what he was doing and got screamed at, had the very expensive headphones ripped from his head and broken, and then ignored. Our mixer asked him to leave and got punched. The [drunk person] was removed by security. I'm sorry I missed all that. What a fun gig.... anyway... end update

Tiny stage, smaller than The Cue, a few minorish sound problems (had to have my amp up very very loud as it was being blocked by the bar) but we pulled through the first five songs really well.

Then Leigh managed to split his kick drum skin during Hitman. Not too bad, just had to turn it around.

Then my guitar amp started playing up. I can't say for sure what was wrong with it but something was. So we struggled through for a bit, playing some attempts at some bass only songs while I struggled with my old guitar (at this point I still thought it was my guitar doing it).

So then play a couple of new tracks with my old guitar and my amp turned all the way up, feedback city.

I give up on that and try the acoustic for the last two tracks, playing Fish Out Of Water acoustic (terrible) and Right Again which thank fate sounded pretty good.

So at least we ended well, and got to play most of our songs. Joy for us. Pretty embarased and sad it went so badly though. But it was "only the Public Bar". Everyone (crowd) seemed to have fun.

Amp seems fine now. My only guesses involve loose wires that unloosened on the way home, or just the fact we had to have it all up so loud it freaked out and overheated or something.

Stupid technology ;p
