Well, Libs are in for another 3ish years with a swing to then of around 3.5%

A fish through some of the results finds only one solid statistic. Nearly every seat had the Dems loosing masses of votes, and those swinging votes being spread fairly randomly amongst Libs, Labor, Greens.

Garrett won easily.

It was fairly obvious within minutes that the Libs were going to win again, but for a brief moment it looked as if Howard was going to lose his seat. This would have been very amusing, and I was almost looking forward to the "I told you so" campaign from the Labor party when Costello was made Prime Minister. But I guess the Labor people got out of bed late and voted late so their votes were on top. Howard won easily, but with a fairly big swing against him.
