Warner Bros offers TV for free download  #

The technical details are very sketchy but the idea is perfect. Free Warner Bros TV shows from their archive, paid for by 1 to 2 minutes of adverts, distributed by P2P. Sounds perfect!

Warner will create their own P2P network that they control. No word on the format or quality of the downloads. Many are infering it will be a special format only playable on a special player so you can't skip the adverts.

The shows are to include (rumours at the moment) Babylon 5 and Pinky And The Brain.

If I can download it and somehow easily convert it to play on my TV I'll be trez happy.

What's he doin'?  #

What have we been up to? Parties (fun), missing parties (heyfever bad), driving around. Popped into Tyabb again a month ago and picked up a nice framed print (minor damage) of a sketch of Melbourne from 1880 and a few other piles of useless crud. Made a similar pilgramage to Warrandyte however heyfever (cold?) spoiled the fun. Warrandyte is pretty but the shops aren't as fun at Tyabb.

Took a trip up to Healesville Sanctuary a few weeks ago, photos soon. This Sunday we went back and walked around Hedge End Maze with some friends which was great. Their minigolf course is "crap" to be polite about it. Needs a little maintenance. The maze is fun though.

And work and stuff. Yay.

I've decided my heyfever is actually a cold and I'm trying to kill it with rest. We'll see.

Sony music just don't get it  #

I've never been a huge fan of Sony and have always distrusted their products, ever since the Minidisc fiasoco that just keeps going and going. I've always thought when looking at one of their products, "what won't that do that I would assume a product like that would do?"

No digital outputs on anything, weird software, weird formats, very slow to catch up to the rest of the world.

BoingBoing has a good roundup/timeline of the recent Sony Music "root kit issue". I read today that no Australian release Sony CDs have this root kit and that Sony are pulling the CDs due to the consumer backlash.
