I don't normally review movies as I don't see the point as I'm no movie expert and no-one respects my taste so why bother.

However... Corpse Bride...

• It's a musical*
• It looks fantastic
• The music is shit
• The story is very average
• It tries to be funny but isn't

So one good point. It really does look great. Some of the shots of Helena BC's character were stunning, and it did end rather nicely. And I'll admit one of the songs (sung by Helena) wasn't so bad.

But still. It left me with no taste in my mouth. None.

If you're one of those people who larfs at Disney style humour and likes Danny Elfman's tryhard Disney songs maybe you'll love it. Or maybe you'll find some other reason to hate it that I haven't thought of. Good for you. I shake your hand.

* Nothing puts me on the wrong foot worse than going to a movie thinking it is anything but a musical only to discover that it is. It's not that I don't like musicals, I just hate being sung at randomly and by surprise.
