The newly announced Sony eBook thingy is one of the key ingredients to my dream device. A high contrast "like reading a book" screen. If it can let you write notes and play music I'm sold.

However, Sony has a long tradition of attempting to destroy otherwise excellent products by deliberately crippling them (see Minidiscs, PSP) and I can't see this product being any different.

But hopefully it will take off and someone will clone it and then we can really start making use of the technology.
