Further on my cinema rant.

New reasons to like cinemas:

• Comfy seats
• Air-con

New reasons to hate cinemas:

• Those damn orange watermark dots they put in films these days to catch pirates. Ugly, distracting, and pointless.
• That damn anti piracy ad that rips off that Prodigy song with an almost the same copy then proceeds to tell me not to buy pirated stuff. Tell that to whoever chose the music for the ad.

Went and saw Underworld Evolution yesterday and was surprised to actually enjoy it. It's like watching a kick ass computer game only without having to get RSI to finish it. The plot is silly and very linear, the action was CGI but at times looked like stop motion. It had the snow bit, and the dungeon bit, and the flooded dungeon bit, and the fight on old broken bridges, and that really silly bit at the end of the game when two end-of-level guys come at you at once.

Very entertaining for that bit of my brain, and the other bit (that cares about plot and dialog and stuff) was turned off due to the heat.

43 degrees today. Forcast. Yesterday was a 33 forcast and it ended up being 41C. Let's hope today isn't 50C or something.

I complained about the heat to someone I was talking to overseas.

It's -15C there.

So it could be worse.
