Look Who's Toxic have finished off their new EP, Pleased To Eat You! Two new songs, two old songs and a live song.

Listen on their website and see if you can guess who says "YES!" and who says "so good" at the end of the live song.

My favourite song is Rest In Pieces and has been since I first heard it at the Evelyn when they supported SPOD. Burger Schnitzel Ninja is to be experienced live whenever possible.

Go Tox!

Warning, this band isn't for any wuss indie fans. They had big curly hair way before you did, you try hard.

There is nothing cuter than an exhausted dog. A little dog who has been up most of the night the last two nights keeping an eye on her roommate. A little dog who after being away from her owners for a while is more than happy to go to sleep on our laps, something she NEVER does.

Maybe we should walk her more...

Thursday

We wandered off to the city for a few days on the weekend to watch some of the Comedy Festival acts. Hilarity ensued.

Using the much loved magic of Wotif.com.au we booked a room with a spa within the CBD for almost half price.

The room was comfy. Lounge and kitchen, bathroom with spa and seperate bedroom. One big window and tiny little balcony that was obviously supposed to be for smoking by looking at the little butt collection.

We ate at City Thai on Lonsdale who were lovely and watched Danny Bhoy, who does a very good Australian accent.

Friday

We're used to traffic noise and light when the morning comes but the seperate room, being on the second floor and big curtains blocked it all out so we slept in until 10:30. Something I don't remember doing since having the dog.

Hey wow, it's a public holiday. Silly silly silly us. Nothing is open.

Bloody hell.

The Pancake Parlour provided us with breakfast/lunch and Nandos provided us with dinner.

The Rialto was open so we looked down on Melbourne for a while. You know your getting photos [see photos here and here].

I loved the fact that many of the photos in the observation deck were only a couple of years old (2004) and yet were still missing about four huge buildings. Melbourne movin'-on-up!

Walked along the Yarra, almost get beat up by some nutjob kids who couldn't figure out that if you walk 2 by 2 you can get around the nice slow walkers (us) who were walking right up against the wall to give you room to get past. I won't go into it but I was called "glasses" for the first time in decades. Come on. Nerd maybe. Geek? But glasses? Does his dad own a contact lens company and people with glasses irritate him?

Arj Barker was funny and he also does a good Australian accent.

The city is dead on Good Friday. Don't go there. There be demons.

Saturday

Things are open! Check out of the hotel and go have breakfast at a hidden little cafe in Centre Way.

Fed Square info centre is open! The little dungeon of leaflet joy informs us about Melbourne in various ways, including a great little leaflet explaining the names of about a hundred different streets around the CBD.

The Immigration Museum is open! Some good exhibits on how stupid we all used to be and a particularly good set of panels explaining how stupid we still are. Also there is the Greek Treasures exhibit but I found it a bit dull.

We have lunch on South Bank and then take a tram to the Museum to watch an IMax show, mostly so we could just sit down for an hour.

Too full of popcorn for dinner so we go to wait in line at the HiFi Bar for Tripod. Meet up with some friends inside by accident.

Tripod were fantastic. Much tighter than I remember and so much more in their element on stage than on bloody that Skit House TV show. Although it was hard to not shout "we paid to get in!" at their little anti-bootleg song.
