200 die and 700 wounded by bombs on the rail network in Mumbai, India.

Frightening quotes from the news:

[Financial Express India]:

"the worst bombing in the last thirteen years"

[csmonitor]:

"The financial capital of India has been prone to terrorist strikes in the past. Until now, the March 1993 bombings may be the most memorable. But attacks at a railway station in March 2003, in a crowded bus in June that year, and at a crowded market and the Gateway of India monument in August 2003 killed hundreds of innocent civilians in the city."

A few media outlets were quick to attach Bin Ladin's mob to the bombings, bringing up the fact that videos leaked recently have included "Hindus" in their usual list of evil conspirators.

Others point out the obvious. Kashmir.

Closer to home, Connex was quick to let us know that they do everything "reasonably possible" to prevent similar attacks in Melbourne.

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I've never seen any Connex employees anywhere near a train during peak hour.
