121 Exhibition Street  #

I happened to accidently find myself on the upper floors of the new building at 121 Exhibition Street today and took some photos of the views. Of course they'll be posted soon.

Being on the eastern end of the city and fairly high, it has an excellent view right to the Dandenong Ranges, unblocked by other buildings. Very pretty watching the mist slowly rise from under the mountains.

The western side of the building has a nice view of the CBD. Kind of the anti-Rialto view.

The building itself is massive. Everything is double scale inside. Ultra wide corridors, huge bathrooms, lots of lifts. Lots of green.

The western end appears to have ultra double glazing. Looking out of the window you can see there is about a 1.5 metre gap, followed by another glass wall. I suspect this has something to do with capturing the sun's heat.

The lights also turn off in the afternoon which is a little strange...
