Census 2006 is coming! Fill out your forms on Tuesday night. If you haven't got your form yet, contact the Census people now. I was getting worried yesterday but the nice census man turned up late yesterday afternoon. He must be nice, the dog didn't bark at him (OK, so the dog was inside, whatever...)
You now have the option to fill the census out on the web. No way. I love filling out the paper version. This isn't like tax. It isn't complicated. It's raw. It's like a life statistics photograph.
You get to be annoyed at the timing. Like if they'd just waited half a year you could put "2 plus baby" or if they'd been a day earlier you could have written down your cool job instead of your new crap one. You get to write down the pizza guy on your form. You can have a census transport day and try to take as many forms of transport as possible to work!
It's endless people. ENDLESS!
Where were you when you filled out the census last time (7th August 2001)? I remember filling it in as the last person (person four? maybe five) at Katie's place with her housemates. I remember living there at the time, but it seems I didn't move in until Feb 2002.
A lot has changed since the last census, but nothing unexpected. I now own (mortgage) a home. I now have a dog, a fridge, a washing machine. I take the train to work instead of driving. My job is better, more secure, better paid. My band still clings to life like some kind of persistent musical mold.
You know what really freaks me out? My band had been gigging with our new drummer for three months when we did the last census. That was FIVE YEARS AGO!?
Update: No, I'm thinking of August 2002. Less freaked out now... FOUR YEARS AGO?!
