We hate Chadstone Hoyts. Apart from being in Chadstone which is enough reason to hate them, they've stuffed up our movie watching experience before.

So when we looked to see when The Libertine was on and discovered it was only on at Chadstone we weren't expecting a good experience.

We couldn't have been more right.

The following things sucked:

  • The 15 minute line ride
  • The doors were never opened, they just started playing the ads, so we let ourselves in.
  • They PLAYED THE WRONG MOVIE! We got to see the first 10 minutes of You, Me And Dupree which was enough for a life time.
  • After some complaining and 15 minutes we finally got the right movie.
  • They missed a few seconds of the start of the movie messing with the sound.
  • They played the first minute of the movie in the wrong aspect ratio. Johnny's head was all thin and stretchy.
  • They got the aspect ratio right but didn't raise the curtains for the extra wide film until about 5 minutes in.
  • I strongly suspect they pay people to sit behind me and talk through the whole movie saying "what did he say?" "who's that?" just to make me even more irritated.

Luckily the movie was good. I need to see it again in a better mood. I think they swore more than South Park.

They gave us free tickets, with which we'll probably go see Brick today, but damn, are they trying to make me hate them or what?
