Digital comic sales  #

Slave Labor Graphics, the publishers of various good comics, are selling digital comics for 69 cents (US) each.

I think the price is pretty reasonable, particularly if you want to just check one out. I've been tempted by Dead Eyes Open, a comic which appears to be about the Zombie rights movement but have only been able to find Issue #3. Also, single comics in Australia imported from the US can go for more than $5 which is a stretch if you're just wanting to sample something.

They only have a few comics (none I'm interested in) at the moment but more are coming.

The comics are in CBZ format. A CBZ is little more than a packaged ZIP file of JPGs in a standard format. They can be read using CDisplay (freeware).

Candy Blog  #

A few days ago we discovered Cherry Bounty. It's a Bounty, with a hint of cherry. It's yum, but ultimately I'd prefer a bog standard Bounty.

Today I noticed Kit Kat Honeycomb and Kit Kat Cookie Dough. I grabbed a Honeycomb and it was like your standard Kit Kat Chunky but with a thicker top layer of choc with chips of honeycomb in it. Yum. Like a Kit Kat, but honeycomby.

What the heck happened to White Kit Kat?

I also notice they've dropped the "Chunky" from the Kit Kat packaging (at least on the Honeycomb version). I suspect the standard Kit Kat "fingers" aren't doing as well as the Chunky. Chunky is the new default. Maybe.

I like this printed on the back, "Nestle believes that proper nutrition and physical activity are important in maintaining good health". Kind of like cigarettes having a message like "Deathsticks believe that monkeys enjoy bananas and should continue to eat them without prejudice. Look at the little monkey. It doesn't make sense."

Anyway, searching on Kit Kat Honeycomb I found the Candy Blog which informs the world of new candy products including some interesting history and reviews of products. They even go as far as to list the trans-fat content etc. Lovely.

The only reason they built the silly building is for the observation deck. The lower floors are only there to pay for the high point.

A teaser website for the Eureka Lookout has finally been created.

"More information soon"

Hurry up.

Update: After a bit of googling the most quoted opening date is "Dec 2006".
