Although I think that answer might be hard coded.
Perhaps it was that over excitement that meant that although I enjoyed the film, I couldn't love it. Perhaps it was because the horror element I was hoping for was such a fizzer? Or the gaping holes in the plot?
I loved the effects, presenting our closest star in it's full glory. I think they did a brilliant job portraying the awe one might feel being so close to that "heavenly body".
But something was missing, like it should have been a four part series instead of a two hour movie?
Being as harsh as possible you could describe the movie as "the way The Core should have been". In fact, comparisons to "world saving" movies like The Core or Armageddon would present good arguments for why this movie was done so much better.
I really wish I liked it more than I did.
A much more positive review: Cinephilia review of Sunshine.
