Yep.

I liked the new single. It's harder edged than the last efforts which I've found a bit too mellow.

It's been a while since I could say that.

The thing that excited me the most out of yesterday's Federal budget announcements was the new ATO auto-tax-returns.

The ATO receives tax information from all institutions you have provided your tax number to (banks, employers, investments) so I've always wondered why I have to tell them that information again.

You will still need to check the numbers entered. A mistake by the ATO will not be a valid excuse if you don't pay your tax. I also assume that this will only be available for eTax (online) users.

So now all I must do it check the numbers and fill in any deductions. Brilliant.

Now if we could just abolish deductions (and make the relevant adjustments to the tax rate to cover any losses) I wouldn't have to do anything!
