Saw Transformers again yesterday with Katie. It still rocks, although a lot of the enjoyment I received the first time was the shock value of seeing the nerdy references, which wasn't there the second time. I could concentrate a little more on watching the background though which was fun.
Katie liked it, but there was a lot she didn't like too. Barricade's interrogation of Sam crosses all boundaries of funny.
Katie suggested Frenzy was the Jar Jar of the movie. I liked that he was crazy violent but there were a few "oops" moments that could have been less lame. I still think the whole garden scene can go.
We both agreed that the whole "best hacker in the world" thread can go, including the final fight with Frenzy, and you wouldn't miss a thing except the pain in your bladder.
I cannot wait for the DVD. One extra I'd like is a static shot of each Transformer transforming so you can pause and watch it happen in slowmo, instead of Michael Bay... mo.
Meanwhile, YouTube provides pleasure and pain:
Mute Math's Transformers theme cover couldn't be any worse. They turned Vince Dicola down for this?
This cheered me up end: The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime.
