I'm Australian!  #

Update: On carefully reading the articles on this new test, it seems the test is little more than an English reading comprehension and memory test that provides some Australian history as a side effect. The future potential Australians will be given a pamphlet with information on Australia's history. They'll then be asked 20 questions on it.

I want one of those pamphlets.

I'm Australian! Officially! Not just 'cause I was born here.

I passed the test. 18/20.

I deliberately don't remember who the first Prime Minister is. Learning that kind of fact just reminds me of kids learning all the Presidents, which isn't evil, just pointless.

And I didn't get that our national floral emblem was Wattle. I might have guessed it if I wasn't doing the test so quickly. I'm sure I learnt that in school. About twenty years ago. And haven't heard the fact again since.

Again, who gives a frig?

What's the national floral emblem of Sudan? If you don't know, why do you expect someone coming here to live to know what ours is?
