French Tic Tacs - Pink Grapefruit  #

Pink Grapefruit, or "pamplemousse rose" is about as unexpected a flavour as I'd expect, even from Tic Tacs.

The Australian Summer Edition flavours in 2006 included "Grapefruit" and I wouldn't be too surprised if it was this flavour.

The Tic Tacs in France are white and the boxes are coloured, like in Australia.

The box is a most excellent Pink colour, probably a little darker than the breast cancer awareness boxes that were out last year.

They taste, I am told, just like Pink Grapefruit. The flavour is not entirely familiar to me but not completely foreign. The same slight aftertaste of mint exists as it does with the Mango flavour, but it's not unpleasant.

I'd say Pink Grapefruit was equal favourite of the new non-mint flavours, next to Tropical Acerola, which I love. I'd love to see Pink Grapefruit in Australia.

After going a little crazy on eBay I recently received the following Tic Tac flavours:

  • Pink Grapefruit (France) - pamplemousse rose
  • Cherry (France) - cerise acerola
  • Mango (France) - mangoue
  • Passionfruit (France) - fruit de la passion
  • Lime (USA, finally!)

Lime flavour in the US was dropped a long time ago and was replaced by Citrus Twist. The boxes I received went out of date last month, but I think I'll risk it, how could sugar and flavouring really go off?

I only received one box each of the French Mango and Passionfruit so I won't be trying them. However...

I received a four pack of the French Cherry and they taste identical to our recent Tropical Acerola flavour. In fact, they're called "Cerise Acerola". The box they come in is an ever so slightly darker red than the Australian Tropical Acerola.

Interestingly both Mango and Pink Grapefruit in France boast they are "avec Vitamine C" which I would have through would change their flavour, but not in a way I notice.

All the French boxes prefix the flavour with "goût" which translates with Bable Fish to "taste" I suppose it's best translated as "flavour".
