Piracy and it's effect on eBay music prices  #

You buy things on eBay for one of two reasons. Either you want to find a bargain or you want to find something you can't find anywhere else.

The bargain is probably something that is easy to find. You could probably walk into a shop and buy it for $15 brand new. Further, you could search a torrent site and download it for nothing as presumably it is popular and thus pirated.

If on the other hand you're searching for something you can't buy anywhere else... it's probably rare. Really rare. Rare and obscure. And unpopular. So rare and unpopular that it hasn't been pirated. Anywhere. Ever.

The second option will cost at least 1000% more than option one.

Or in my case it cost $35. $5 more than I was willing to spend on four tracks.

Damn it.
