I'm irritated the Big Day Out website doesn't have a yes or no in huge letters on their news page.
I'd hate to turn up at the front gate to find out she's not on.
AmazonMP3 sell their music (from all of the big four labels) in high quality, MP3 format, without DRM. The second they're available in Australia I hope to use them instead of iTunes.
I can't stand the iTunes player and it annoys the hell out of me that I need to use it just to see if they have something, or if I want to burn one of their DRM tracks to CD. Would it kill them to have a web enabled search?
AmazonMP3 seems to use the web for all browsing and you only require software to download if you want an album.
Currently AmazonMP3 is available only to those in the US and those able to pretend they are.
Songs at AmazonMP3 are both cheaper and more expensive to iTunes. iTunes demands all songs be the same price.
No details of timing. "Begin rollout" could mean Europe in Dec 2008 and Australia just in time to watch the sun explode ...
AmazonMP3 recently did a deal with LastFM and the big four labels to allow all of their music to be made available via the LastFM player/website. They'll allow their music to be played up to three times for free, then provide a link to AmazonMP3 to buy the track if you like it.
