What you'll never get on iTunes  #

Things you'll never get on iTunes:

  • A cheap compilation with lots of tracks. Almost all compilations are $1.69 x Number Of Tracks.
  • All of your favourite band's tracks. You'll only get those tracks that are controlled by their current label, with lots of confusion in between.
  • Significant sales on any albums. No such thing as a bargain bin online.

So many of the physical product marketing tricks don't apply to digital stores with an instantly accessible search. No need to dump old product to make room for more.

iTunes really needs a bargain pile.

I noticed today that JBHiFiOnline is selling digital music (via DestraMusic) in MP3 format for some indie tracks (including Radiohead's new album, and some select new singles). $1.69 per track. All albums seem to be Number Of Tracks x $1.69.
