Well forked  #

19th June 2001:
This morning I stirred my tea with a fork. Last night I decided I'd take a week off, most likely in a couple of weeks. Yesterday I finished the back-end of a project a week early.

I have a pile of leave I need to use. Particularly as soon it will be too busy at work to take leave. I've been thinking a week would be good. I've also almost finished a project I've been working on for months. I guess my life runs in cycles.

Further ranting:

Saturday night saw me have a dream about seeing Alex Lloyd. All he did was bash massive "Rover"-esque white balloon/pillows on the stage while a backing tape played all the music and sang for him.

Last night I dreamed I saw a Metallica cover band. They were fantastic. They had four guitarists on stage to replicate the (recorded) doubled guitars of both James and Kirk. "James" and "Lars" were dressed like their cartoon selves in the Napster video. "James" had a t-shirt that said "MEAT". When they played "...And Justice For All" songs, the bass player left the stage.

They played "To Live Is To Die" flawlessly. During the little quiet plinking guitar break, a screen rolled down and a projection of Cliff Burton appeared. The whole crowd saluted. In the build up toward the end, a Metallica photo montage from Puppets through to Load era, changed faster and faster, ending with a final shot of Load era emo-Metallica with the short hair and eye make-up. The cover band all pointed their guitar necks at the image. Lazers shot from the ends of their guitars and destroyed the photo, the projection screen, and set fire to the curtains.

Everyone ran outside. A guy in the hot dog stand was trying to give away copies of Metallica new CD with his buns. No-one was taking.

I'm going to go have a cup of tea, and stir it with a fork.
